Bali, Indonesia – Introduction of tourism levy
Bali’s
government has announced the introduction of a foreign tourist levy from 14
February 2024. The fee is 150,000IDR per person, approx. AUD15, and can be paid
via the official Love Bali website prior to departure. The website
will provide a levy voucher via email, which can then be scanned at checkpoints
on arrival.
Counters are also
available for payment on arrival, but cash is not accepted.

Balinese New Year (Nyepi) will take place on 29 March 2025. ProHub recommend informing your clients who are planning on travelling to Bali during this time, that they should be prepared for a day of silence from local time 6.00am on 29 March to 6.00am on 30 March. Here’s what to expect:
- Day of Silence: All movement, travel, physical work, and recreational activities are prohibited between 6.00am on 29 March to 6.00am on 30 March
- Restricted Movement: Visitors must remain indoors, with lights turned off and noise kept to a minimum
- Closed Services: Shops, restaurants, and tourist attractions will be closed. However, hotels will continue to operate as usual
- Airport and Ports: Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) will suspend operations during this period. If clients are in transit, they will need to remain inside the airport
